here is the little history of the first two gens Firefly / Forsa / Metro / Swift / Sprint in Canada. it starts in 1985 with the Suzuki Forsa, the Pontiac Firefly and the Chevrolet Sprint. in 1987 they got flush headlights but the trio remained the same. when the changed in 1989, the Forsa became the Swift. Even if the Geo brand was launched in US, the Chevrolet Sprint did stayed in Canada until 1992 when both Chevrolet Sprint and Pontiac Firefly left all the place to the Geo Metro for GM, while the Swift was available at Suzuki. The Pontiac Firefly did came back in 1994 with the Metro's tailights but same front as 1991 (except for car-coloured bumper ). Firefly's two-years vacations were also caused by the Pontiac LeMans /Asuna SE/ Passport Optima short-lived trio

Were the Metro and the Swift still available in Canada when the Firefly came back?

jettalover this is actually a 1991 as it has the older style front bumper.

Was the Swift convertible ever available in the US or Canada?

Not in the US, and I don't think Canada had the Suzuki version, just the Geo.

night cub wrote just the Geo.

And of course the Pontiac and Chevrolet...

The convertible was only sold in 1991 and 1992, so I doubt it.

Also, did you mean that you don't think Canada had the Suzuki version entirely, or just not as a convertible?

I meant just the Suzuki convertible. Spoke too soon about the Pontiac.

Looked at a Canadian car site, and they have 1990-1 Chevy Sprint Convertibles and 1992 Geo Metro Convertibles for sale. (There is also one 1992 Chevy Sprint convert, so not sure about the years) Also some 1991 Fireflies.

Geo Metro - http://www.kijiji.ca/b-cars-trucks/canada/geo-metro/c174l0a54a1000054

Pontiac Firefly - Link to "www.kijiji.ca"

The main pic does not have the large Pontiac spear badge.
