I've been trying to do some research on these Mexican Chevy's, and while I've found some good info, it seems that a new question comes up every time I find an answer. |

It's an interesting one alright The only reference I've found so far about DINA making a version of the C/K is this one forum post: Link to "67-72chevytrucks.com" |

Funny, I was reading that same post this morning |

It’s a rear-wheel-drive Dina. The familiar independent front suspension (IFS) with convex lower control arms are very visible. The front wheels are for steering and braking only, they cannot help drive the truck. |

I was browsing some used car listings and these are the only Dina-badged pickups I came across: 1981 DINA 3000 tow truck / GM 3500 http://vcarranza.olx.com.mx/grua-dina-3000-mod-81-iid-125209907 1978 DINA 1000 / Chevy 1 ton (no pictures) Link to "tamaulipas.evisos.com.mx" 1976 DINA 1000 / International pickup http://www.autoclasico.com.mx/site/?p=15&id_fol_auto=4861 -- Last edit: 2010-10-04 05:52:29 |

hey you all! I am the owner of a 76 Dina D-1000, most of the exterior and chassis parts are from a joint venture with International Harvester, engine is a VAM 282,kinda same like AMX(Rambler,Matador,Javelin,Pacer, etc) and some CJ´s from Jeep, this one is a 6 cylinders-line, fabricated totally in Mexico, it is the a larger one fabricated and only for Mexico market. Mine is fuel even when company name stands for Diesel originally, I have seen some diesel powered engines like Perkins, I have pics and links from other Dinas on sale if you want me to post them. Later Dina changed the line and fabricated some kind of Chevrolet, we called them "austero" model of Chevy, not the equipated or Deluxe models but the "austero" or basic model was made by Dina in the 80´s. That particular one in the movie el Extensionista shows the logo from "S.A.R.H."(Secretaria de Agricultura y Recursos Hidraulicos) which is a Mexican Federal agency "Hidraulic Resources and Agricultural Secretary", as Dina was a "Paraestatal" (Government owned and operated) company all Federal agencies used Dina trucks. My truck was part of TELMEX-Telefonos de Mexico, largest phone company in Mexico, till 1991 it was a Paraestatal too, concesion was sold or given to Carlos Slim(richest guy on earth said Forbes) and he sold all the old equipment thats how mine came to my hands 20 years later(lucky guy!). Anyway hope you find this info quite interesting. I am here to help gladly! -- Last edit: 2010-12-09 17:09:43 |

Hi MrOaks! Sorry I didn't see your post until now. Thanks for that very interesting information. I'd enjoy seeing your other Dina pickup photos/info; you can either post it here or start a topic on the Forum. Does your '76 look like this one? /vehicle_352660-Dina-1000.html |
