Cortina Mk5 [TC3]. Mk5 did not have an S or GT model in the same way as earlier Cortinas, but there was an S pack option (alloys, lights, suspension) for ordinary Cortinas. Police-spec Cortinas would probably have been L trim with the S pack added but impossible to confirm here due to picture angles and police equipment, especially on the thumb. -- Last edit: 2010-09-22 02:50:21 |

OK - if that's the registered title, so be it. It would fit the space better than "Police spec Cortina, probably an L with the S option pack but we're not totally sure." |

I'd say 2.0S, with that black panel on the back |

This is a mk4 cortina 'S'. The 1976+ MK4 'S' was a model in its own right unlike the mk5 which reduced the 'S' to the option packs. This police car has the black 'S' trim on bumpers ,door handles, door mirrors, window surrounds and would also have a black painted rear panel. no other british spec mk4 had this much black treatment, even the base model had chrome bumpers. The mk4 'S' was used by several police forces. one thing out of place on this car though is the mk5 front valance, probably fitted after accident damage. -- Last edit: 2011-10-17 20:12:22 |
