Well, I can't say this one is nice. What famous person crashed her? |

This car belonged to the Uruguayan tango singer Julio Sosa, who died accident in 1964. http://www.cocheargentino.com.ar/a/auto_union.htm#AUTOUNION its a very nice coupé http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julio_Sosa -- Last edit: 2010-11-17 17:37:23 |

With no doubt. My (automobil club) friend has her sister, Auto Union 1000 SP Cabriolet with ivory body / red interior. She's the pocket Thunderbird. |

@Gomsel: wouldn't this the perfect car for you? It's origin Argentina (which is always very important for you), and as an engineer-student, the restoration would be the ideal practical supplement for the theoretical lessons The technic and its availability is not a big thing. DKW-stuff is robust, simple and still easy to get for not much money. O.k., the welding work will not be easy, as all body parts were handmade and not available any more - but it should be possible to manage for a future engineer And the hunting for the rare, Argentinian made spare parts, is the perfect possibility to make contacts and connections to competent people all around the country. |

ingo, of course! an old friend of mine, was almost completely ruined an Auto Union 1000 S, which already passed away. I still regret having been too young in the 90's to rescue him. Also, I like classic cars and meanwhile, the restoring motorcycles and some cars, is my uncle, a former employee of Techint. |

Although, whenever I see some Citroen / Peugeot / Renault or any IKA (in another time perhaps) in disrepair or abandoned, makes me want to buy it and restore it. This coupe Fissore has had among its owners, too, the former DT Cesar Menotti. In the 60's, was the order of the "winner" and gave a great deal between the celebrity status. Unfortunately, in the city of Santa Fe, in 2002 a project was not successful in re-building the Cisitalia, created by Piero Dusio. |

right! its the same, how popular in Poland today? here it is very rare to see a coupe Fissore or any other car as well. |

Mr Ziółkowski has only one running 1000 SP Cabriolet in Poland, as I remember. She has been bought in Germany, with body, paint & interior in nice condition however the engine near dead because its previous, cut-cornering repairs and some mechanical faults also. |

This shouldn't be a big problem, DKW technical parts are easy to get and not expensive. At the 1000 SP the main drama is the body-condition. Every part is welded, not screwed, no original rust conservation (made by Baur) and repair-sheets were never available, neither in the 60ies. Shall I ask around for the needed parts? I have a few conections |

That's why Ziółkowski bought this car - healthy body with some mechanical problems. Thanks ingo, however you help doesn't needed. Ziółkowski is truly "The Mister Perfect" in quallity of his cars' restoring. The ivory convertible has been mechanically restored 4 years ago and runs perfectly still. The engine has been resurected successfully by our "special doctor" Marek Furmanowski, the amazing craftsman healing the hopeless cases even. The standard & sporty versions of Auto Union 1-litre engine differ much more than you think. Marek gave grim coment about Auto Union engineers, after finish his work: - The engine made by falling-down factory clearly. Has too many cut-cornering points. They tried to save money desperately. He stated it was much more abusing repair than full rebuild 6-cyl. M20 B27 in my 525e at truly 119,000 km due to some French service station's swindle. They drew up bills to previous owner but didn't change oil & coolant, by circa 10 years. :O -- Last edit: 2010-11-18 20:36:56 |

never exists in Germany... not comment crap |
◊ 2010-11-19 16:38 |
No, this Fissore model was never available in Germany. Even though the mechanics had German roots, this is a specific Argentinian car. Edit: Ah, you were faster Gomselmash -- Last edit: 2010-11-19 16:38:42 |

How are the connections to Italy, as it's a Fissore? |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-11-20 12:25 |
Fissore was the one who designed the bodywork. I have no idea if it worked on another project here. In Spanish, I leave this link: http://es.wikilingue.com/pt/Carrocerias_Fissore |

I'd say the link to Italy will be comparable with the Italian link of Volkswagen Karmann Ghia... |
