I think this could be a Sturmmorser Tiger (or "Sturmtiger"). This appears to be a Tiger I Chassis (SdKfz 181), but the superstructure makes this a self propelled gun or anti-tank gun. It doesn't appear to be the "Jagdtiger" SdKfz 186, which I believe was based on the Tiger II. My best guess is that this is a Sturmmorser Tiger ("Sturmtiger"), but that is a very rare vehicle (with around 20 built). |

official designation "38cm RW61 auf Sturmmorser Tiger"..it had no SdKfz number 18 converted from Tiger 1 tanks between August to December 1944, chassis numbers 250001-251357. superstructure provided by Brandenburger Eisenwerke, conversion carried out by Alkett. vehicles were issued to Sturmmorser Companies 1001,1002 and 1003 |

Unless anyone has a better suggestion for the listing... My idea would be to list it as MAKER: Alkett/Henschle MODEL: Sturmmorser Tiger "Sturmtiger" My reasoning is that is is a conversion carried out by Alkett, on a vehicle designed and built by Henschle. Though it uses major components provided by Brandenburger Eisenwerke, I don't know if they should be included. It is officially designated as a Sturmmorser Tiger. It is commonly known as the "Sturmtiger" (though this could probably be omitted.) Sound reasonable? |

We have vehicles listed under both makes, so I'd list it with one of the two instead of generating again a new one. Henschel seems the most logical, mentioning Alkett in extra info. |

"Sturmmorser" should be renamed into "Sturmmörser". "Mörser" means "Mortar" in English. |
