I don't expect that it's tax will be renewed in September somehow.

Mind, after having this done to it it's murder was very much a mercy killing :(

A shame indeed :(

Somehow I have the feeling Top Gear has "jumped the shark". The new episodes aren't as creative and anarchic as before; they seem to have run out of ideas a bit. It was so predicatable that they pushed the poor CX down the cliff.

I've thought that for the last two seasons. Seeing an old Citroen with what appears to be a Miami condominium built on top of it is more baffiling than funny.

These Citroens are super rare here these days too.

I doubt if they really pushed it over the cliff - they could probably be prosecuted if they had. How did they recover the remains to show in the studio at the end of the programme? Whole episode did not appear very plausible eg Jeremy promised to go and fetch ice creams for everybody from the pub - would Richard and James really stay behind while he did so? And what state would the ice creams have been in by the time Jeremy had brought them back?

Also earlier on the Citroen apparently blew over during an overnight gale while Jezza was sleeping in it. Was he injured - apparently totally unscathed, and no questions about this from the others? Also the film of the Citroen after this point did not seem to show any damage due to being blown over.

Good fun, but not very convincing.

Indeed. If they did push it off the cliff they probably asked permission to do it and to film it.

Even then it was a wide angle shot so it was pretty unclear.

It reminds me of a show I did captures for where a car was wrecked by going off a cliff. When I ran the plate the car apparently lasted until 5 years after the scene was shot!

I also doubt they pushed the real car down the cliff, simply due to restrictions; I guess it was just a wooden "dummy" that plummeted down in the background. As you said, it was perfectly staged by using the wide angle shot, and the car displayed in the studio could as well be another Citroen which was already wrecked, or they took the CX which was featured before and ruined it somewhere else. But that wasn't my point. I simply wanted to state that IMHO the whole challenge was somehow dull and uninspired. Besides, I should also mention that I am NOT one of the members here who hate Top Gear as I really enjoyed most of the last years. For a non-native speaker of English like me, it was an ideal combination of humour and language learning.

 Yes, they were the best. For me, Top Gear stands in the tradition of this kind of humour. Because of that, I see it as entertainment, not as information. For me, the three hosts are not car experts, and you can often see the yellow-press-background of some of them shine through. Because of that, I understand why so many IMCDb-members often get upset about this show.

Strange that it is still on the road... Or does it only indicate that a tax was paid?
Maybe they used a double, and the original one linked to the plate is still on the road then?
What is also strange is that the month for liability is now February and not October :??:

Road tax can be renewed in 6 or 12 month periods.
