Listed as Cadillac M4 Serman, was Cadillac the maker or only the engine maker?

As far as I can work out, the Sherman was never powered by Cadillac engines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_Sherman
Two 5 1/2 litre engines would not give a 30 ton tank much performance. I don't think Cadillac had anything to do with Shermans. They built M-5s, M-8s, M-19 anti-aircraft gun tractors and M-24 Chaffee tanks - all with Cadillac power.
