Not Praga - Yugoslavian movie, it's a licence version - TAM Pionir |

This film is set in the Second World War. TAM was established in 1947, two years after the Second World War. Pionir should not be in this film. I reckon that they wanted to replace the Opel Blitz, which has very similar. Error is in the film - not here. Cheers. |

On the other hand here is article (found by the user andrepa here) which, to me, is saying that this type of truck was produced in YU already before the war, by the company IMR from Rakovica*, under the name "Praga Pionir". I doubt they bought licence only for the bus verison, as it never works this way... -- Last edit: 2013-05-08 23:16:22 |

Licence Praga RN were produced since 1940 in Industrija motora Rakovica (IMR), which bought licence in 1938. -- Last edit: 2013-06-10 22:53:20 |

But in a film made in 1970 a post-war TAM is more likely. |

In fact it was not TAM till 1950, so also in case of post war ones it can be a 1947-50 Praga (by IMR) Pionir. EDIT - 1st it was named Praga RN also in Yugoslavia, then in 1946 together with start of production of the 3,5 ton version, the name Pionir started to be in use - source. -- Last edit: 2017-03-17 22:07:07 |

From our well informed observers above, should not the year of the vehicle be 1947+ - anachronistic to the story though that may be? |
