1959 or 1960 Buick Invicta/Le Sabre? |
◊ 2010-07-12 03:08 |
Looking at the 1960 brochure, the Invicta would have chrome trim around the wheel arches. This does not, so I make it to be a 1960 Buick LeSabre. |

Right |

Agreed for the reasons listed above, although this car is also missing the name badges which should be in front of the front wheel arch. It looks like a recent picture, so if someone finds the owner and it proves to be an Invicta we can always upgrade it. |

Here is another forum's debate on the same car. Looks like a 1960 LeSabre. http://forums.aaca.org/f115/burn-notice-tv-show-1960-buick-267113.html |

The crash car was built from a 4 door sedan. The windshield is taller than on a real convertible, and if you look closely at the pictures above, in some of them you can even see the welded up door seams. It looks like they just welded up the side solid, moved the door handles back, and put some chrome trim on that makes the outline of a two-door's door seams. |

Would the 4-door you speak of bear any relation to this '59 Buick presently holed up in the Burn Notice prop car lot? Might be for next season, if unrelated. -Kurt |

You won't be any happier to know that there's a black '57 Caddy torched up in the same manner behind the white Chevy 1500. Magic City did some active chopping too - including a 50-50 split of 4-door '59 Fleetwood (have to get a photo of that - it's visible through the fence) for the marshland mob graveyard. No great loss though; when I saw it up close (when it was in one piece), it had enough rust to have fallen in on itself without any help. -Kurt P.S.: The '60 Buick was most likely a rental from Ted Vernon - every other rental vehicle in town seems to come from his place: Link to "www.tedvernon.com" -- Last edit: 2013-05-17 01:05:16 |
