Actually, Ernie Driscoll (John Payne) the taxi driver is driving two cabs in the movie, this one for about an hour, the n°539 (hence the title of the movie in some countries), of which here is the frame in its original format: and then n°3035 … a '52 Cranbrook too, I hope. Is it? |

Cranbrook was the top of the Plymouth line; Cambridge was the base model favored by taxi companies. 3035 is definitely a 1952, but I can't make out the details on 539 well enough to distinguish 1951 or 1952. |

Thank you 539 is indeed a 1952; the hood emblem and the script-style badge in the last thumbnail seals it. ...Except for this one, which is a very clear view of a 1951 hood emblem |
