We know this car from some other source? What makes it 1974? It has bumper of model 1977, side repeaters of 1976/77 and doors (with handles) of 1986(!) 24-10. And if it is in former COMECON it will be a 'GAZ 24 Volga". |

Typical GDR street light, the blue sign with the street name looks also very German, so I suspect this scene of being shot in eastern Germany. |

Sure, the style of the houses is pure East-Berlin. And yes, the street-light is orginal DDR. @Weasel: in Germany it was written Wolga, with a "W" As the river, too. -- Last edit: 2010-06-13 18:14:08 |

It was Wolga here too (even Wołga). The point is, that here and there they had a Cyryllic badges. The question is - is it really necessary to list the same car under all this local names, when it is only a matter of the Cyryllic alphabet interpretation? |

was there a special taxi-version for the DDR? The GAZ-24 Volga was often used as a taxi in the DDR, and I think, I've heard someday/somehow, that they were usually imported for that purpose. |
