Early 3102 cars had chrome side mirrors & wipers and overriders on bumpers, here in summer 1980: http://gaz24.ru/engine/images/8/8e/28433183.jpg 1982 Production began in December 1981. Characteristic elements of exterior: - No side indicator. Low side aluminium strip. - Door "chubby" mirror, same as GAZ-24. Firstly chrome, later satin black. - Front head restraints. Few options: back head restraints, tinted glass, headlights high-pressure washer. Avaible colours (in 1982-1985 period): black, white, beige, light grey. Few early cars had exotic paintwork for prospects only. This 3102s were exported to few countries (Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, Finland) in very limited numbers. The private person couldn't buy this model in USSR as new. Distinctive stripped GAZ-31011 and 31012 with ЗМЗ-53 petrol engine (V8, 4,25-litre, 120-160 PS) from GAZ-53 truck. GAZ-31028 - with two-rotor Wankel VAZ engine (140 PS). 1992 The cost-cutting unification with cheaper 31029: - Lower and close to tail position of filler cap on left rear wing. (Caused by the removing fuel tank from safe space over rear axle to new place under trunk floor, closer to rear bumper). - Side mirrors from 31029 "Mercedes W124 style", manually of electrically (more streamlined in shape) operated. - Low side aluminium strip dissapeared. The 3102 production continued with new 31029 hand by hand (or mirror by mirror). :P In first mid of 90s many new options were avaible - e.g. air conditioning and electrically operated windows. Refreshed GAZ-3110 came out factory lines.
