Was powered with same "Falcone 500" bike single-cylinder 4-strokes engine(early ones don't had cab-available on customer request-therefore they shown an half-bike chassis still,no visible into photo,with the fuel tank placed thru the pelvis of rider-driver,that sat on a bike saddle and the engine still thru the legs,such as on a true bike).Was listed into Italian bike Make's range until 1980(production started in 1950s,last ones had twin headlights on each side of cab),when production was stopped 'cause was ended that of "donor-bike"of its engine in 1967 already(in favour of the brand-new"V-7",with V-2engine,born to replace in Italy's Polizia and Carabinieri Corps,the obsolete and slow "Falcone" bikes). Rivals of Ercole heavyweight-three-wheeled trucks were in Italy the MV Agusta Tevere,the Innocenti Lambro 500(both with river's names!)and the Gilera Marte(as Ercole=Hercules,with a Greek mithologic name,Marte=Mars,God of War);many Ercoles were used overall in quarry and building yards,in Italy(almost 20 years ago they still running in my town)loading terrain,sand,gravel(was one of few 3-wheeled trucks to have tipping load bed--on request) -- Last edit: 2007-07-01 00:21:21 |
