No, she was Amanda Hunsaker, the daughter of a friend of Roger Murtaugh (Michael Hunsaker). And Riggs' wife was not killed in the movie, he was just remembering that she was killed previously. But was it by bad guys? I thought that it was a road accident. |

Yes Antoine, bad guys got her, it was revealed in Lethal Weapon 3 or 4, turns out the "accident" was caused by a hitman fooling with the brakes on Riggs car, She wasnt supposed to be driving it, Riggs was. If I remember correctly...  |

Amanda's father, Michael (portrayed by Tom Atkins) was a member of the CIA owned airline company, Air America and was working for Air America's covert unit known as Shadow Company whose job was to destroy the heroin and poppy plantations in order to stop the Vietcong from fighting in the Vietnam War as the heroin was used to supply the Vietcong with weapons to keep their war with the US going. In the film, Hunsaker said that the group had started to smuggle heroin into the US from their sources that they made contact with during the Vietnam War in the Golden Triangle area of Laos and he started to get nervous so they killed Amanda as she was a junkie and a prostitute and threaten to kill his other daughter (Amanda's twin sister) to keep him in line since they were using him and his bank as a front for laundering the proceeds from the deals that Shadow Company made with the local drug kingpins. And it was revealed in "Lethal Weapon 2" that Pieter Vorstedt (portrayed by the late Irish actor, Derrick O'Connor) was the one who killed Rigg's wife. In the second film, Vorstedt was a white Afrikaner mercenary who worked for the main villain in the second film, the Afrikaner Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arjen Rudd (portrayed by the late British actor Joss Ackland) as a security agent for the Apartheid South African Consulate and as Rudd's right-hand man. -- Last edit: 2024-01-10 18:35:48 |
