Location: Weidendammer Brücke, which leads the Friedrichstraße over the river Spree. The current bridge was built in 1896, but was dismantled between 1914 and 1923, when the U-Bahn tunnel was built. The bridge survived WW2 and is protected as a historic monument since 1970. The buildings in the background, the leather- and sportswear business on the left and the Hotel Atlas on the right are gone by now and replaced by modern buildings. |
