I can't get more screen shots due to the fact I don't own the movie (I can re-rent it if I need too though), But you can see some scenes from the movie(including ones with this car) at about the 8:00 mark of this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wQ_zP4x7oU |

Excellent youtube link. From the photo above I thought it looked a bit like a Triumph Herald - right sort of size. Youtube footage suggests same sort if size as a Herald, but..... (1) very high bonnet (2) film is Japanese, so a domestic model would seem most likely. Car crashes and rolls in film to show underneath, but this looks like footage of a toy. Overall it looks as if they deliberately removed every clue, and possibly put in some false elements - perhaps the split screen or the rear fins. |

Id also love to see it solved I wish I could figure out what it is possibly a Ford Anglia or a Trabint or a customized Datsun 310 Bluebird? |

The last two definetely not, as this movie is from 1962. |

I don't see Ford Anglia 105E - the rear window wouldn't fit the outline. |

Definetely not. It's too small for that. |

About as generic looking as it gets. About the only thing distinctive is the rear fenders. |

How bout a Borgward Isabella. |

Eeeh, don't be too sure about that. Fintails are a popular extra to camouflage a prototype Even nowadays - for example at the Mercedes Benz-prototypes, you can spot sometimes on the Autobahn nearby my home Really distinctive are the frontscreen, the wheelbase and the shape of the wheel arches. |

Plans: Car is called (make) Tiger (model) Pioneer Sports and should have 5 stars - whole movie is about this car. Could be disguised other car from the movie, Toyopet Crown (wheels, fender, shape of the rear lights): /vehicle_302623-Toyopet-Crown-RS20-1960.html |

I think it is a Toyota Crown indeed. However, a different version (Deluxe), by the different side trim. But where is differential? The rear axle looks rigid with any drive train element. FWD? :O |

It does appear to be a Crown |
