This is a 1991 model, because Elan was first sold in the USA for that model year. Might have been product placement too, as there some enhancements made with alternative body shells in addition to the real car. -- Last edit: 2019-05-18 07:51:19 |

Seems Elan first appeared in US at Detroit and LA shows in Jan 90, but sales did not start until autumn. Only penny numbers sold until it was dropped in 1992 - total Lotus US sales in early 1990s seem to have been about 350 per year, with about 300 of these being Esprit Turbos. So very few Elans ... |
