Are you sure? Those look like DRLs that came for 1996. Could it be one of those Model year vs. Build year? I know this comes up a lot.

[GMT430] chassis either way.

I'm trying to figure out which character of the VIN indicates the bodystyle. Yes, the 7th character is an "8", which indicates 2-door SUV.

Built September 08, 1995 and has 79 installed options from the factory according to Compnine. So, it is a rather late build and fairly fully loaded.

That part of the VIN tells us this is 6001-7000 GVWR (E), K-Series (K), & 1500 weight class (1). I pulled all this from Truck_Guy's link.
