The radiator is behind the headlamps, isn't it? On a Defender it's slightly in front of them.

[:necris] I was wrong; I didn't look closely enough. I now think like 929V6 that this is a Series III 88", possibly V8 by the grille (which isn't behind the headlamps: sorry Gag), which has acquired rims from an early Range Rover and a Defender one-piece windscreen.

Or by the grille and windscreen, perhaps a Santana? http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/3636/vendolandrover109santan.jpg

Filmed in Russia - did they have Santana's?

Btw. Were Santana's exported?

Probably they didn't originally have Land Rovers either. Santanas were officially exported to France if I remember correctly.

Santana can be ruled out: the combination flat nose/88" does not exist, and Santanas had single taillights.

IIRC in the early days of perestroika/glasnost, before Land-Rover started selling in Russia officially, a private British firm was selling reconditioned Landies to Russians who presumably wanted a little more comfort than UAZ-469s offered. This could well be one of those, in view of the rather bitsa equipment.

Looking at the photos this is a Series 2 or 3 dressed up with 90/110 or Defender (or lookalike) windscreen, doors, bonnet and front panel to make it look more modern. However, the front wings, rear tub and axles make it easy to spot this is a Series Land Rover underneath.

Какого года выпуска этот Лэнд-Ровер?! Тут ручки ранние, возможно в России их мало осталось!

Although this is not a Santana, it seems to be customised with Santana headlamps and indicators.
