I am thinking the grille is for a Mercury.

Its a 1975-78 Ford with an incorrect or altered grille.

Actually, its the same 1975 Ford already featured on the page. They just put a different grille on it and reused the same car

Both wagons are used in the scene. The one with the LTD grill is what they start with and looks to be in better shape. The car then rolls down a hill, crashes, and explodes, that is the one with the Mercury grill and LTD headlights. Wasn't sure if there was a separate model for Mexico that would be built like that. In Canada, they had non-hidden headlight Mercury Meteor during 1975-1978, when all the US got was the Marquis.

The 1977-1978 era Ford LTD made in Mexico was fitted with a Mercury grille. The LTD sold in Venezuela also had this grille. Many Mexican-built Fords had Mercury trim pieces.
