It is a Nash Metropolitan but 1954-55 ( witht the first grille. From 1956 Metropolitans had an egg-shaped grille.)

I found additional data on this car under french immatriculation in magazines. It carried a Hudson badge rather than a Nash badge. This was the case for some earlier Metropolitans after the merger of Nash with Hudson as AMC in 1954. Encyclopedias are often listing Metropolitan as a separate make because badge may be Nash or Hudson or Austin though they are the same cars.

And designated as a Metropolitan 1200. This was changed to 1500 in '56.

Two days ago I've seen that in the showroom of the half garage/half museum of a Borgward-enthusiast in Northern Germany. The poster is original from the USA.

Interesting, that the Nash Metropolitan was listed as a "Foreign car"

The prices of the foreign cars were remarked, too - :wow: I haven't known, that the Lloyd Alexander was sold there, too!

@DynaMike: not only the Dauphine, also the 2 CV is listed.

The car on the bottom right is a MG Magnette.

P.S. pic repaired.

A catch from a spare parts market today:

Incredible rare in Germany. It was a private import of an Austin-dealer (I even didn't know, that we had some here), as you can read in the papers. If anyone is interested in this rare document, please let me know. I would like to swap, maybe to sell it. No panic, the price was bearable ;) .

Interesting that those papers show the same confusion we've had about whether it was an Austin.

The TÜV-stampprints besides the crossed out "Austin" means, that this correction was officially implemented. The change from "Austin" to "Nash" was made in the lines for "chassis" and "coachwork", not for "engine". There "Austin" stayed.

P.S.The engine was changed in 1960. The original one was replaced with a 1489 ccm-version with 51 hp, engine-no 8 G 240 RS-15156.
P.S.II The car was imported from Britain.
