A Rover 800 is a possibility. The black 'A' pillar is the only thing that I think could confirm it. Not common on white Vauxhalls but blacked out on some Rover 800 cars.
Also the Rover 800 panel form looks to be there, high-lighted by the 'snow' possibly.

Door mirror, side trim and 'B' pillar all look like both Vauxhall and Rover as does the door handle.

Not 100% conclusive but Rover 800 I think.

I'd say R800 as police Carltons were much rarer (Generally a Senny would have been used) than Police 800s.

Could you get a Carlton with body coloured mirrors? None on the base have them.

On which Opel is the Carlton based on?

Omega [A].

There was Carltons with body coloured mirrors it would seem so I was wrong there but I still think this is a Rover 800.

It was also based on the Rekord [E], not the one pictured above, however. I think the 1979-82 Carlton is the best looking car of the late 70s / early 80s.

Used in the Metropolitan Police Service fleet as both marked and unmarked patrol cars.

That's definitely a Rover 800, and I would not be surprised if it was a MetPol car hired for the film.
