I think it's UAZ 3151 sold by Martorelli (GAZ/UAZ/Lada Italian importer): http://www.autosoviet.altervista.org/uaz-martorelli.jpg Martorelli cilivised & customized spartan GAZ and UAZ offroaders since 60s. In UAZs they swaped engine (mainly to Peugeot 2.5 Turbodiesel or VM), fitted disc brakes and added better equippment. Due to this many changes it should be model origin: USSR, built in Italy. Same way as Belgian GAZ-21 Volga. -- Last edit: 2010-04-06 12:40:58 |

I found nice movie with Martorelli (1969-1989) story: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7129540175481788436# At 4:07-6:49 period you can see assembly lines. It's factory, not just service garage. -- Last edit: 2010-04-06 12:35:41 |

UAZ 469 switched to 3151 in 1985. So, in summary for admin : 1986+ UAZ 31512, model origin: USSR, built in Italy. -- Last edit: 2010-04-06 12:38:30 |

Now it's clear! The white long lettering on bonnet claims 'Explorer'. It's one of (mid-80' on) Martorelli's regular UAZ types. The names depended of engine. Another Martorelli's types were: UAZ Marathon (Peugeot 2.5-litre diesel), UAZ Dakar (VM 2.4-litre turbodiesel), UAZ Racing (FIAT 2.0-litre petrol). |
