The big question, though, is what is a heavy-duty snowplow doing in a junkyard in the middle of the desert? |

Depending on which part of the desert this is in, such a truck might not be so inappropriate after all. -- Last edit: 2010-04-03 20:26:43 |

You are right, Ddey65. Some area at the desert could have a fiery snow out there... |

In the movie, US Marshal Larken (the man pictured) had trouble starting it up. It's possible that it was used in a snowy area and ended up in the desert junkyard after being sold. Either way it was more of a plot device as the giant plow allowed the National Guardsmen in the movie to regroup and repel the ambush by the prisoners. |

Typhlosion is right. If you remember in this movie, they have a vicious sandstorm that allows the prisoners to disguise themselves as guards. Sand and snow behave the same way. Seeing as it is abandoned at the abandoned airport/boneyard, it was most likely put to disuse when the airport closed down. It was probably used to clear the runway after a sandstorm happened. It could also be used to pull planes and clear junk away since the airport is not like a commercial airport and can afford specialty airplane tugs, which wouldn't be necessary for the small planes this airport takes anyways. |
