Brackley was served at this time by the Northamptonshire County Council Ambulance Service. I dont know if this ambulance was part of that fleet and I cant make out the crest on the cab door. The curve at the bottom of the rear door reminds me of early Hanlon bodywork, but cant be positive. -- Last edit: 2010-04-07 02:25:30 |

Filming location from IMDb is Bracknell, Berkshire rather than Brackley, Northamptonshire despite what is on the ambulance. I could be the Berkshire Coat of Arms http://www.berkshirehistory.com/odds/arms.html -- Last edit: 2010-04-07 11:51:49 |

Hi Sunbar. Thanks for the information. I remember watching this film on telly about 25 years ago. The only 2 things I remembered about it, was it starred Sean Connery and a Transit ambulance with Bracknell on the side. So when I saw Brackley on the above photo I thought at first it must be a different film. It is defo the same film. I dont know if the ambulance served with the Berkshire and Reading Ambulance Service. -- Last edit: 2010-04-10 15:16:13 |
