'64 Was the first year for the Caddy 429 V8. I think it's hilarious when Chris Walken & Leo DiCaprio are driving up to the front entrance of Chase Manhattan Bank & Chris tells Leo,"Don't hit the curb!!" & Leo drives the right front wheel onto the curb anyway, I wonder if that's because the power steering on the Caddy was a bit slow or if that's an inside joke between Chris & Leo, Probably the latter maybe.

After driving a 1964 Cadillac for over 20 years I can say the power steering was not "slow" (by 1964 standards).
It had "full time" power steering however and transmitted no "road feel" like modern units do.

Modern power steering is WAY better than in '64 I think!!

If you like "road feel", yes.
If you prefer a fingertip luxury feel, no.

I could literally steer our '64 Coupe de Ville with my little finger if I had wanted to. And the motion was smooth as silk.

I'd say it's because Frank Abagnale Jr. (DiCaprio's character) was 16 at that point, was only just learning to drive and his father was coaching him on how to act as a chauffeur.
