That one still has the 1979 hood ornament, so the amber turn signals have been fitted in afterwards. For comparison, 1980. |

Another vote for it being a '79: the bumper only has the holes for the centre license plate on 1979 models. For 1980 models, it moved to the far driver side of the bumper. Greenlight Collectibles is now producing a 1:18 scale model of this car and identify it as a 1979 as well. There are some inaccuracies in the model but I imagine they probably got the model year from the movie production company. |

I think you had mistaken 1981-2 with 1979-80. 1979-80 had two little "grilles" on the front bumper, between which a license plate was integrated. In 1981, the "grilles" were removed and the license plate was moved. So that's probably 1979 or 1980. -- Last edit: 2024-08-18 19:05:54 |
