Vauxhall, despite the vinyl roof I lean towards a Victor [FD] instead of a Ventora, for what I can see of the wheels.

The wheel trims were very similar on the Ventora, only having a slight 'turbo' ring outside of the plain inner. Only the VX/490 had the Rostyle effect sports wheels. So would not be visible here.

Vinyl roofs were common additions to Victors as well.

The rear panel here is black with horizontal ribbing unlike the plain body-colour painted Victors. The exhaust pipes are not visible.

All are 'G' or 'H' registered so the model years are about right.

Ventora I believe.

Never known Vauxhall to use anything other than Luton registration numbers BH, BM, GS, KX, MJ, NK, NM, PP, RO, TM, UR, VS, XD and XE for their normal current vehicles.

Certainly not VMC, too similar to FMC (Ford Motor Company).

If they did use promotional plates for historic or show vehicles they tended to use VML, Vauxhall Motors Ltd. (or perhaps just VM). Later in the mid-1980s many Vauxhall fleet vehicles were not registered in Luton. Some were actually registered I think in the Manchester area, when fleet management was subcontracted to other companies (for a period by Avis for example).
