And by Sichuan Hongyang There maybe others aswell. In Hongyang website it is mentioned that Hongyang pioneered Steyr trucks in China in 1989 and still makes them. http://pic.atpic.com/116167/600 EDIT: Fascinating website by the way. Take a look at this gallery, Chinese buses and trucks sorted by make and there a lots of them. http://atpic.com/932 -- Last edit: 2010-03-10 17:17:20 |

Only sad, that Steyr itself made today just MAN vehicles. The cabine was designed by Chausson. The equipment was not to destroy as I've heard, still possible to find some single, early ones in private hands. |

http://pic.atpic.com/116167/600 is actually a Sinotruk, not a Hongyang (look at the badge). The identifications on that site don't seem reliable - for instance, the first photo in the Nanjing Chunlan folder is a Nissan Diesel/UD from Hong Kong, misfiled because Nanjing Chunlan uses the Nissan Diesel cab design: http://gallery.atpic.com/3614 Where's the Sichuan Hongyang website? Google doesn't turn up anything relevant. |

Here is Hongyan website. Todays it's called SAIC-Iveco Hongyan, previosuly it was Sichuan Hongyan and then Chongqing Hongyan: http://www.hongyantrucks.com/ There are no good pictures of Steyr in the official site. In my files I have one Steyr type labeled as Hongyan CQ4345 (CQ is for ChongQing) which would indicate that it is their own model and not produced by someone else. |

My fault - I spelt it incorrectly. Anyway, Hongyan seem to have given up using this angular Steyr cab and moved on to the later Steyr cab, which they've customised with radiator grille slats like the ones on the angular cab. Link to "china-truck.en.alibaba.com" -- Last edit: 2010-03-10 23:48:06 |
