Parisienne Safari then? Or Station Wagon? Because "Parisienne" looks less like a wagon than "Grand Marquis Colony Park" |

It's the Mercury. Neither the Pontiac or the Buick have those silver ribs on the taillights, and the Buick doesn't have such an upright front end. |

We've got three people claiming it's the Mercury to, well, you. Tell us why it's a GM, or why it's not the Mercury. |

Ahem, Mercury Colony Park: Link to "memimage.cardomain.net" Pontiac Parisienne Safari wagon: http://yellow.freeservers.com/83parwg.jpg Notice the Parisienne has no silver ribs on the taillights, rounder wheel wells, and the roof appears to start rising over the rear door (compared to the Colony Park's flat roof, the roof rack excepted). Also, the Mercury has a light just behind the front bumper, where the Pontiac has none. The Mercury also has the exact same wheels as the car pictured. Now, I've even given you pictures to work with, please enlighten us and tell us what details make you right (and please, there's no need to call names, if you prove yourself right, that's enough, isn't it?). |

Thank you Hecubus in addition, the Mercury has an opera light on the "B" pillar, the Pontiac does not. -- Last edit: 2006-04-05 06:08:45 |

Yeah, but I didn't want to rely on that. Silver car, with a lot of chrome trim, in the sun, makes a white opera light hard to pick out as substantial. |

Excuse me, but....can anybody explain to me how to mistake this Mercury for a GM product? |
◊ 2006-04-06 01:41 |
I don't think you can unless you didn't know anything about cars. |

I thought the station wagon in this movie was later 1980s than 1981. I also believe the headlight gets damaged when George is chopping wood and a piece flies through the air and hits it. |
◊ 2017-06-18 04:35 |
I also think it is 83 or newer (see grille). Maybe as new as 87. |
◊ 2017-06-18 08:49 |
Yes, has the 1983+ grille, but does not have CHMSL, so no newer than 1985: |

@junkman because in the first movie it was an Oldsmobile |
