1982-1987 Chevrolet Camaro. Oh, you want the School Bus? Well, I've only got two guesses, and I thing they'd be wrong. -- Last edit: 2006-04-02 02:59:53 |

Any thoughts on what that bus might be? Because I'm leaning toward either a Crown or a Carpenter. Without seeing the front end, it's a lot harder to figure out. |

everything I can find indicates that this is an old Crown schoolbus with the matching multiple horizontal lines under the windows http://members.aol.com/njtbus/PTC35.htm |

It would be called 'Coach'or 'Super Coach', would it not? 'School bus' seems unlikely... |

This is NOT a Crown. It is in fact a GILLIG, built by Gillig Bros. of Hayward, California. Gilligs and Crowns are very similiar and often confused. Gilligs have flat sides, four rubrails and taller, narrower windows. Crowns are fully rounded with two or three rubrails. |

Oh, and I have seen one Crown, belonging to Walnut, California, with a single rubrail! |

Main pic replaced with a larger, clearer view of the bus -- Last edit: 2008-05-02 04:55:31 |

That is MOST DEFINITELY a Gillig Transit Coach. In fact, it appears to be a late-sixties Model 743D Transit Coach. I *really* wish that bus wasn't in that state of decay, however. |

Oh, and while we're adding new screenshots (and I know this has nothing to do with this movie in particular), there are TONS of Gillig buses (as well as an equal number of Crown Supercoach buses) in the opening montage of Dangerous Minds with Michelle Pfeiffer. And a few Gillig buses scattered throughout. I'm honestly surprised those haven't been uploaded here. |
