Any idea when the racatngle headlamps were introduced? Maybe the fact that the very early (pre-serial?) 1968 Czechoslovak Avias, still assembled for a while mostly from the French parts had round headlamps, soon replaced by the rectangle (in the same year) says something... -- Last edit: 2010-01-27 20:32:44 |

Well, I'm not sure and have no clues on that, but I think squared headlamps appeared around 1970, but is it 1969 or 1971? ...that's why I leave blank the date field ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-01-27 20:43:54 |

This new front was intorduced in 1966/67, but with round lamps. Indeed, like it was mentioned it got the rectangle ones in 1968. You say 1970 and it fits perfectly to this what French Wikipedia says (or rather what I understood from the Google translation ![]() And now the important question - maybe the ones made before the 1968 should be listed as "Renault"? It is actually what they say in Wiki I think. Also the old brochures use the Renault make (Renault-Saviem). http://laurent.bunnik.perso.sfr.fr/renuti01.htm The Wiki text to check: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Super_Galion_SG4 -- Last edit: 2013-02-07 22:22:29 |
