1931 Ford A Deluxe sedan like this one - http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/ModelAFord/1931_Ford_Model_A_Sedan-July14b.jpg There were three different four door bodies in 1931 - Briggs, Murray and Ford - but I am not sure which this is. |

1931 Ford A DeLuxe Fordor ( 3 window) sedan. As far as I can see it looks a slant windshield ( 160 with wood in the roof opening). For this last model A series Ford had specified that all body panels be interchangeable between coachbuilders and only firewall tags if still present or the configuration of D-nuts can tell if it is a Ford ,Murray or Briggs produced body .For this I refer to www.mtfca.com/discuss/messages.The situation is different on the early 1931 and earlier year cars ( 155 straight windshield with canvas material in roof)whose body panels did not interchange between coachbuilders and there were subtle difference. For example Briggs made straight window frames , Murray had slightly curved top window frames. Briggs concentrated on the Fordor 2 window sedans with the blind rear quarter panel and was also responsible for the Victoria. |
