There seems to be much dislike for the Banks' family station wagon. quotes made by characters: "Oh yay, we get to cruise Beverly Hills in a Volvo." - Hillary S. Banks {said in sarcasm} "Okay uncle Phil, hand over the keys to the Jag." - Will Smith "No," - Uncle Phil "The Benzito?" - Will "The station wagon." - Uncle Phil "Oh, come on uncle Phil, you're gonna ruin my rep!" - Will And many others, |

This car is used in episode 2 of season 1. It is seen for about 2-3 minutes. Also in this episode is a tan, 1980's Mercedes-Benz sedan. |

Well, if you're living in Bel-Air you obviously expect something high-class. |

Wait a minute...this really is a 940? This car was introduced in September 1990, yet this episode was shot in the July of 1990 and aired on September 17, 1990? Product placement possibly? |

Yeah, doing some further investigation, I am dead right (despite being ignored). This is a 760 wagon, not a 940. The Estate 940 did not even exist in July 1990, barely being introduced in May 1991 and 960 barely went on sale in October 1991 as a 1992 model. This is the first episode taped for the actual series, as compared to the pilot shot in March 1990 and aired on September 10. Fresh Prince taped 6-8 weeks ahead, where they wrapped on March 21, 1996 and last aired on May 13, 1996. -- Last edit: 2018-07-21 05:06:16 |

I assume you didn't bother checking the episode date? How do cars introduced in May 1991 and October 1991 respectively, appear in a taping from July 1990 (aired 9/17/1990)? This plainly a 1990 or earlier vehicle, being a 760 most likely. |

No use arguing with appassionato - he hasn't posted since September 2006. |
