Sorry leoz, it's defintely American - just look at the size of it! and seems to be a hardtop, but i couldn't even guess what it actually is.... -- Last edit: 2010-01-10 21:25:15 |

i don't think its a hardtop looks more like colonnade styleing to me |

possibly a somewhat distorted 1974 oldsmobile cutlass supreme colonnade coupe captured from an odd angle? that would account for the apparent decorative venting on the front fender behind the wheel, and for the size... it appears to be longer than the short wheel base van. pretty good sized car. |

^ I think you're right, although I'll add that it could be a 1973 |

didn't the '73 have a much larger rear quarter glass, while the '74 had this smaller "opera window" style quarter lite..? - and the sides of the '73 perhaps had more dramatically sculpted side sweeps while the '74 was flatter down the side? it could just be tainted memory on my part, as i'm drawing on cars that friends of the family had when i was really young (i was 2 or 3 when this one was new), but coming from a household as a child where i was surrounded by pontiacs (and british cars), the cutlass was one of my childhood favorites... just different enough from the GTOs that we had kicking around to be familiar, but interesting all the same. |

To my understanding, the different rear quarter windows distinguish different models, not different years. The 1973-74 base model Cutlass and Cutlass S had the larger windows: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/olds/74olds/25.html Whereas the 1973-74 Cutlass Supreme had the opera windows: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/olds/74olds/22.html The bodysides stayed pretty much the same, too. The front end changed, but this image is a bit too blurry for me to be sure, so I played it safe with the year range. |

@ CougarTim ah... thank you. that would make sense even with the cars in my memory (the supreme with the smaller quarter windows would have been a '74, and the '73 would have been a base...) i appreciate the information indeed. |
