4x4 ? but most of these things where FWD It is a quite light off-road vehicle, only some versions were AWD. It is because of that car that I had to rename the "4x4/SUV" category to "Offroad/SUV" According to Wikipedia it was used by the army: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citroën_Méhari And it seems that the version sold in USA was indeed classified as "truck" Well, for me "truck" always remind me the heavy ones, not the light utility vehicles. There was also one used as police car in two of the "gendarme" movies, but I do not know if the car was effectively used by the police: /vehicle_3666-Citroen-Mehari-1978.html /vehicle_4780-Citroen-Mehari-1978.html -- Last edit: 2008-01-11 10:16:26 |

There was even one used as fire engine in les Landes in Western France, a region that is often confronted with forest fires. This is quite strange, since the worst thing of the Méhari was the fact that the plastic built body was very inflamabme I saw this Méhari Pompiers in the Citroën museum in Castellane (near the Grand Cañon du Verdon). |

Black wheel screws and wipers can make it 1981/1982: http://www.citroenet.org.uk/passenger-cars/michelin/mehari/mehari4.html (pic for 1981 - still silver) http://www.citrobe.org/mh82.htm (1982 - all in black) Could be customized too. |
