Come to England, dear boy, we're already there and then some! My last tankful of diesel was 7.89 USD per gallon. Petrol is a little cheaper, about 7.20, but remember our gallon is 1.2 of yours.

Wild guess, but I'd say Mack R or DM Series.

Go to Scotland. Then you'll think, that England has cheap prices. The most expesivest gas- and Diesel-prices I ever have seen, were in Lochinver, in the far North of the Highlands. :/
O.k., I haven been to the Shetlands and Orkneys yet. And not to Norway...

If you have the ethanol-conversion-kit, maybe.
But you should buy the real Scottish whisky not in Scotland. Rather in the supermarket at home. It costs max.60% than in Scotland.

As Diesel-driver you mostly can use salad-oil. Or the old fry-oil from the take-away next door. No kidding, I know people, who are doing that. One Citroen BX TRD-driver has connections to all pommes-frites-ranches, Asia take-aways and Schnitzel-houses in his town. He picks up the old fry-oil in canisters from them. The BX likes it and has reached the 650.000 km a time ago. :)

In Germany the sunflower-salad-oil in the supermarekt costs less than a liter of Diesel at the gas-station. So some people are buying all the boxes with sunflower-oil and fill the oil into the tank on the parking-lot. My brother-in-law had done so, too, when he had an old Daihatsu Feroza.
I shouldn't do that with my Omega. The engine is not the problem, but the Eberspächer-extra-heating doesn't like to get salad-oil. :(
