I've been checking through a few books ..this is proving to be a hard one to find! It's Not from one of the usual/popular makes of the time and not a lesser known american sports-car maker like Cunningham, Nash-Healey (checked). My guess would be a 'special'/kit/custom of some kind? (you don't often see a sports car with suicide doors? I've only found a couple during the 50's) |

The nearest I can come by here is an early fifties ( 1950-53) Story ( Story Custom Cars of Portland Oregon).This expensive sports car used modified 1949 Chevrolet rear fenders , had suicide doors ,a high windscreen and used a low channel steel chassis giving an overall low height of 46 inches.Power was a souped up flathead Ford with Offenhauser heads .Later , a 4 passenger model was also being made available. |
