Because (me in this case) put some 'work' into identifying it and it should be acknowledged. I allways save the comments in such cases even when I regroup pictures that others have identified. Like here: /movie.php?id=491698 for example. |

If they are not relevant anymore to the main picture, they can be archived. The archive function was made for that: comments that we want to keep but that have no direct interest for people who visit the page... Either because it was off-topic, or not relevant anymore due to a change made later. |
