or Simca? ...if I remember first Solara had been made as Simca? Am I wrong? |

Probably. I know the Solara only as a Talbot. I remember its advertise in the magazines, when it was new. All actual Talbot-cars were shown in a line, the Solara at first. The last two cars on this pic were more interesting for me - the 1100 and the Chrysler 180. And both with Talbot-logos! So in the last months of their lifes these two models were mutated to Talbot, too. -- Last edit: 2009-09-27 23:16:21 |

Solara was introduced in 1980, after re-introducing Talbot brand (1979), so it was "new" Talbot. |

In 'Gazoline' #77 (mars 2002) I found a 'guide d'achat' about the Solara. Since the 10th of July 1979 Simcas were rebadged to Talbot, but on the very first press pictures from March 1980 the Solaras did have Simca badges. It was not clear why this happened. Production cars were always badged as Talbot, though. -- Last edit: 2009-09-28 12:16:17 |

Nice Solara. A friend of mine has just imported his 1980 Talbot Solara GLS from France into Holland. Look at the badges and the window sticker in this pictures: Solara rear: http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/3746/cimg6141.jpg Solara front: http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-8ML3FU8B.jpg |

That's correct! Then I think I met you driving a black 1985 R11 on a French car owners meeting, some time ago, as well? |
