Another BMW 7 [E23], from episode 3.09 : |

This could also be a gray market E23 with US spec bumpers. It has European spec headlights (7" headlights, with 5.25" high beams) which was not a very common modification at the time. |

Wow, I was looking for an image of this car since its owner was a friend of mine. This car was imported to the USA from Germany by Braman BMW, a BMW dealership in Miami, If I'm not wrong, he imported 5 or 6 cars with the intention to keep one and then sell the rest. THis particular car was a 745is and it had an 4.5 liter in-line 6, with one or two turbos, I don't remember, but what I do remember is that the car was a bullet and that is had buffalo leather interiors in brown and some gadgets that were amazing for the time, like a second stereo inside the elbow rest in the back seat that controlled the sound system of the car as well as the position of the front seats. It also had very few chrome, everything was painted in white, including the rear wind deflector and the numbers in the trunk. It was a job done in BMW's plant, not an aftermarket alteration, and the car was a special edition that has the M logo in some places in the car interior. THe 733 in the US had a different motor and got nothing to do with this car. -- Last edit: 2012-06-23 19:40:38 |

The 745i had a 3.2 lt turbo not a 4.5. Also, no M logos were factory as this car had nothing to do with BMW M GmbH. But if it indeed is a grey import 745i it should not be listed as "made-for-USA". If it's an official US car it should be either a 733i or a 735i (most probably a 733 as it was available for 7 model years vs 3 my for the 735) -- Last edit: 2023-04-17 20:31:05 |
