Although not an expert on this make, I agree with you that this is one of Rickenbacker's earlier models and probably the same 1923 car ( 1923 would be a model B-6) as reported by its owner "studie 289" in the movie Changeling of 2008 on this very site.I must admit I was a bit confused since the only surviving early sedan reported by the Rickenbacker owner's club in 2008 on their site was a 1922 A-6 sedan which was on sale at that moment and which the club sought to trace back. If so there would be not 1 but 2 early surviving sedans.Perhaps studie 289 can tell us more.Later models starting from 1924/25 had much broader beltlines. |

Note that this is a 1959 show, so the car may have been destroyed since... |

How about that, Studie? Is that your car? |

Hi guys, just noticed that you'd left this question for me. The Rickenbacker club is not aware of my car, so I am notifying them that it does exist, and that it is a 1923 sedan. Looking closely at the car in these photos I believe it is, in fact, my car long before I got it. The paint striping around the radiator and on the fenders was present when I got my car, and the light damage to the right rear quarter panel that is visible in the second photo, is also an indication that it's my car. My car was missing the windshield visor, the front bumper, and had rotten non-skid tires when I found it -- further indication that this is my car. |

Additional info: A friend of mine actually owned the car in the 1950s when he was a teenager -- he sold the car in 1956. He told me that it was the only 23 Rickenbacker sedan know in the Los Angeles area at the time, furter indicating that this would be the same car. |

The "hat-in-the-ring" emblem on the radiator is that of Rickenbacker's 94th Aero Squadron. |
