A President and a Dictator coupe used the same bodies. Only the longer hood easily distinguished. If the caps have a stylized "P" and spell out President, then it could be a President. But, from what I can see from the right rear quarter...it has at least one '39 or '40 hub cap anyway. The right rear does not appear to match the sidemount or the front hub cap. You could order your rumble seat with one, two, or NO side-mounts. Base models had the spare behind the passenger seat. The rear window treatment was not at all typical; the idea was taken from the 1933 Pierce Silver Arrow show car. The window opened in 1936, but was fixed in 1937, which makes identification here easy, even without seeing the grille. All sedans had a single pane of glass. 1938 would have split rear windows. |
