Definetly a Mercury. That looks extremely rare.

This is a hearse, not an ambulance. Probably a low-end Colony Park. This could even be from the mid-1980's, because when Cadillac downsized their full-sized cars the second time, a lot of hearse owners felt they had to turn to other makes and maufacturers for new hearses(Ford LTD, Mercury Colony Park, Chevy Caprice, Chevy/GMC Suburban, etc.)

There's no such thing as a "low-end" Colony Park. By the late 80s all full-size wagons were given that name but at this time it was still the top-of the line model. This is simply a Grand Marquis Wagon, or if it is from before 1983 a Marquis wagon. I know it is a 1981 or later model but from this view there really aren't any other giveaways as to year.

It's a Marquis wagon, or Grand Marquis beginning in 1983 when the new downsized Marquis/LTD came out on the Fairmont platform. This body style ran from 1979 to 1985, this one got a simple conversion to a budget hearse, by any of a number of companies.

Looks like a conversion by Thacker Coach, Inc. of Annapolis, Maryland.
