Ford LTD Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis? |

It's a 1981-1982 Ford LTD-S. If I could see the grille better, I would be able to tell if it had the blue Ford oval or not, therefore narrowing the car down to it's exact model year. |

You could try increasing the brightness on that thumbnail, but I think it's possibly impossible to tell whether that blue oval is there or not. |

It pretty much is difficult to tell. But based on what I can see, there doesn't appear to be an oval, indicating a 1981 model. Oh well, I'd say narrowing it down to two possible years is still good |

I thought the LTD "S" models had single big rectangle headlights ?? |

No, the LTD-S has single square headlights: /vehicle_46448-Ford-LTD-S-1979.html |

That's the first time I've seen an "S" model with a vinyl roof. How do we know it's an '81, though? That style began in '79 and was pretty much the same till they put the blue oval on the grill in '82. |

This looks to be a regular car sold to the public, not a bare fleet vehicle. That's why it has the vinyl roof and those wheel covers. And 1979-1980 models had slotted front bumpers while 1981-1982 models had solid front bumpers. -- Last edit: 2009-08-11 22:45:28 |
