But this is an ugly car (in my opinion). And I have personal prejudices about Golf-drivers, so I will never buy one. Only one time, I was thinking to buy a Golf. A friend has offered a 1974' Golf I in "viperngrünmetallic", by its FIN-number the oldest known existing Golf. But I said "no". sixcyl ◊ 2009-08-05 08:29	I like the Golf I too, but I hate the V , III , and the II .... but it's just a subjective opinion. I've never have any VW in my life (except rent cars)
m.pfaffeneder ◊ 2011-07-01 14:48	In my family are Golfs quite popular. My sister had a Golf II, my two brother´s had Golf II (one of them was a lovely GTD), one of my brother´s had a Golf IV TDI. My parents had two Golf II (one of them was totally damaged after a crash, the other one had transmission problems) and since April 2005, we have got a 4/1998 VW Golf IV 1.4 Trendline. It has now almost 120.000 km and it´s fantastic (all the other Golfs in the family were fantastic, too). It´s very reliable, comfortable and it looks great. @ingo: The worst Golf was the Golf III ("Lopez"). The Golf IV is much better.
