It says "Proprete De Paris" on the front, meaning it belong to the city works of Paris. |
◊ 2014-05-14 17:58 |
it looks so cute only annoying thing I can't find it and has strange design, rear wheel smaller than front ones like a harvester -- Last edit: 2014-05-14 18:02:08 |

Why don't you ask our Parisian members? We have some here. They should know, who cleans their streets. |
◊ 2014-05-14 18:21 |
DONE Dear French members, what is this sweet sweeper ?? |
◊ 2014-05-14 18:52 |
Looks like mobile vacuum cleaner here |
◊ 2014-05-15 12:41 |
you are right !! it's a sidewalk vacuum cleaner like this and not a sweeper that's why I couldn't find it http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~mllee/cars/cacar007.JPG -- Last edit: 2014-05-15 12:51:49 |

FRENCH Members how do you call this things ?? see pic, it's more an aspirator than a sweeper Link to "www.gettyimages.dk" |
◊ 2015-06-11 22:01 |
Try (Google Translate:) aspirateur portable Or: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrocureuse -- Last edit: 2015-06-11 22:03:03 |
◊ 2015-06-11 22:05 |
.... Link to "i10.twenga.com" this thing is an aspirator that's why I never got anything close when trying with balayeuses |
◊ 2015-06-11 22:07 |
Yes but there is no specific name. I'd call that "aspirateur" too like a vacuum cleaner... For the bike version there was the name "motocrotte": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motocrotte |
◊ 2015-06-11 22:14 |
english they are called "Outdoor Litter Vacuum" MADVAC does such machines but doesn't look like the wanted one http://epofc.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/LNLR50.jpg -- Last edit: 2015-06-11 22:16:18 |

Maybe I should snap a picture that I have typically seen portable vacuum cleaner at the street sometimes |
◊ 2015-06-11 22:19 |
Here is one I see once a while at downtown Atlanta at http://www.atlantadowntown.com/initiatives/ambassadors/clean-team (See second picture). |
◊ 2015-06-11 22:29 |
knowing french nationalism target vehicle is probably french ... |
◊ 2015-06-12 00:25 |
Not necessarily. Besides, our 'nationalism' is badly hurt, like many others, by EU 'regulations'. Ville de Paris uses Toyota, for instance, as light utilities. (But they're maybe made in EU.) For the mobile vacuum cleaner (which main purpose is to aspire dead leaves), I asked twice to people dressed in green, working close to my favourite café, what was the brand of it. They didn't know or even couldn't remember the machine. |
◊ 2015-06-12 01:30 |
Isn't that a manufacturer name on the right one? Looks like five letters, above Propriété de Paris. |
◊ 2015-06-12 16:35 |
tried with "Aspirateur de feuilles" no match, are this vehicle still used ? |
◊ 2015-06-12 16:46 |
It's been a long time since the last I saw. I think their use was rather short-lived. (And after all, it appears we have only one pic of them in the db, right?) |
◊ 2015-06-12 17:18 |
yes only one on IMCDB maybe some french man could mail Paris adminstration using the link I posted of it and ask what it was ? -- Last edit: 2015-06-12 17:19:15 |
◊ 2015-06-12 17:31 |
Nothing replaces live experience. The 'Paris' websites I browsed through were soaked with marketing chit-chat and political stances. Mainly PR slogans and shit, no real facts and data. (And the same goes with police and firemen, fortunately with less PR stuff. No real machines-history oriented pages.) -- Last edit: 2015-06-12 17:32:42 |

maybe clue to ID ?? could it be VERRO ? |

LOOK BEHIND ONYX written on back maybe same producer ??? |
◊ 2019-12-09 21:17 |
No, it's some street cleaning company. Rather using street sweepers than producing them. https://www.flickr.com/photos/tomwarior/6748531817 |

I think it's SOLVED this logo is VALAIR french company so fits perfectly https://www.val-air.fr/en/ -- Last edit: 2019-12-09 21:33:50 |
◊ 2019-12-10 17:53 |
French company fits, but logo seems different. I think better to do more research. |
◊ 2019-12-10 18:19 |
you think that really extend V with the top _____ is not very distinct ? |
◊ 2019-12-10 18:51 |
Yes. But - You know that before 2005 Val'Air was called Haller and can't have such nice logo with V? Link to "www.estrepublicain.fr" Link to "www.tracesecritesnews.fr" https://www.val-air.fr/en/valair/sweepers/ |

on their historic they say 1995 was created Valmetal https://www.val-air.fr/presentation/historique/?lang=en -- Last edit: 2019-12-10 18:54:47 |
◊ 2019-12-10 18:59 |
Yes, but Valmetal doesn't make sweepers. They needed for this purpose Haller. |
-- ◊ 2019-12-10 19:18 |
Pre-1995 Valmétal was 'Frimokar', a 'sweeper and specialized machinery' company, as they say, but nothing like this pops up on Google. |
◊ 2019-12-10 19:49 |
From translator: "Jacques Daval created Valmetal in 1995, a year after the closure of Frimokar, the sweeper manufacturer in Lure (Haute-Saone), who employed him as shop supervisor. Electrician, mechanic and inventor at heart, he chose to be his own boss and started, alone, an activity of design and manufacture of special machines for the industry, in this city near PSA factories, in Sochaux , and Alstom, in Belfort. Three years later, the small company had 10 employees and built the first part of its current premises. "I was at the time at the drawing board, the workshop, editing, at the customer, it was acrobatic," recalls the leader. Today, Valmetal employs 48 people and generates 7.5 million euros in turnover, of which three quarters come from Val'Air, a subsidiary born from the purchase in 2003 of its client Haller, who was selling sweepers designed and manufactured by ... Valmetal - 60% of which are exported to Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the Nordic countries." Link to "www.lesechos.fr" https://www.societe.com/societe/usine-luronne-de-frimokar-409956679.html |

@mike962, could this be an answer? Link to "www.setboun.com" Link to "www.setboun.com" Translated: cleaning machine Eole in the Les Halles district From another source ( May, 1992.) Link to "www.gettyimages.com" -- Last edit: 2019-12-10 20:12:12 |

And I was thinking that Eole - from other picture from Getty - is kind of place in Paris. |
-- ◊ 2019-12-10 20:28 |
Well check again then, Mike, maybe you see 'Eole' written now in that blurry pic. |
◊ 2019-12-10 20:32 |
Eole seems to be same as Onyx , an operator http://jacquinot-eole.com/1/Balayage.php |
◊ 2019-12-10 20:33 |
Apparently, from french it's translated as 'Aeolus' - the divine keeper of the winds in Greek mythology. Kinda fitting for this machine |

oh cut the crap that V is clearly there |
