There was alsop a smart 'hardtop' version of this Minx- I think they called that one the 'Californian'. The year here would be about 1954.The styling was based on Chrysler Corporation Plymouths of 1949- 52, so was outdated even when introduced. The US industry set the pace for post- war styling. Ahead of the Minx is a VWW, then a Vauxhall Wyvern of about 1953. The blue car over the road is a Ford Consul of 1956. My father owned a Ford Zodiac of that year- similar, but with a 2.6 liter 6 cylinder engine. It was fast and flashy- (two toned in black and white) though chrome trim falling off of it would litter the road. -- Last edit: 2010-03-19 15:24:14 |

Minx is Mk5-8 from body, but horn ring only on Oct 54 onwards Mk8. |
