For future reference; between 1958 and the updated 1968 version (without the roof mounted indicators), the door handles changed from the straight style to the up-swept version shown above. edit: Change from the straight door handles as carried over from FX3 to the 'up-swept' style appears to be during 1964. Taxi drivers at the time I think were commonly known to open the rear-offside door by reaching through the driver's window without getting out of the driver's seat. The later handle would make that easier. That is until the introduction of push-button door handles in the early 1970s, as used together with burst-proof door latches. -- Last edit: 2018-12-24 13:31:16 |
