The olds is shown more in its rear on another vehicle's page. Let me find it... It is a Dynamic 88 without a doubt. There are two additional views of this car. The first shows the name script and its placement, which is unique to the model or series name in 1959. Here they are: /vehicle_233314-Edsel-Corsair-1958.html /vehicle_233317-Buick-Roadmaster-1955.html The second shows the rear trim, which would rule out the Ninety-Eight for two reasons. (1) The OLDSMOBILE capitalized script is not spread out over the entire rear deck as on the Ninety-Eight series. (2) The length of the rear fender spear is nearly non-existent on the Dynamic 88 and longer on the Super 88 and the Ninety-Eight. Short field guide to 1959 Oldsmobiles: (1) Name script above trim line just behind headlights=Dynamic 88. (2)Name script below trim line just behind front wheel opening=Super 88. (3)Name script above rear side fender belt line trim=Ninety-Eight. Trunk letters also spaced differently on Ninety-Eights as noted above. There you have it, even if you can't read what it says, it's where it's placed that really counts! -- Last edit: 2009-06-14 10:56:42 |
